The SVC men's swimming team lost a close contest to visiting Allegheny College by a score of 145-135 at Resnik Pool.
The loss dropped the Bearcat men to 2-4 overall for the season.
Starting off the meet strong for the Bearcats was
Sean Doyle, taking top honors in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:53.49, 10 seconds ahead of the next competitor.
Sophomore
Jacob Davis then won the 200 Free, posting a time of 1:48.12.
The big performance of the day was in the 100 Backstroke, where Bearcats took the top three spots.
Adam Gordish came in first with a time of 56.36.
Xander Emili came in second clocking in at a time of 56.59, and
Adam Tran followed in third, out-touching Allegheny swimmer by one-second with a time of 59.93.
Kyle Garase added in two first place finishes for the Bearcats, winning the 100 and 200 Butterfly, with times of 53.75 and 2:05.74, respectively.
Alex Bolen was the winner in the 500 Free, touching the wall at 5:00.93. Emili finished off the individual portion of the meet in the 200 Individual Medley, taking first with a time of 2:02.84.
Saint Vincent returns to action with a Presidents' Athletic Conference road matchup with Westminster College on Saturday, January 21. Meet time is slated for 1 p.m. in New Wilmington.
