LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 21) - A second half goal helped visiting Chatham University top the Saint Vincent women's soccer by a 1-0 score in Presidents' Athletic Conference play in Latrobe.
After a scoreless first half that saw the two teams combine for one shot on goal, Chatham broke through with a score in the 55th minute of play. Kyla Kelley headed in a cross from Emily Nolan to give the Cougars the only goal of the match.
Chatham out-shot SVC by a 17-6 margin in the contest, including a 3-0 edge in shots on goal. Senior
Maggie Nelson tallied three shots to pace the SVC offense. Junior goalkeeper
Corinne Burk made two saves in 90 minutes in net.
The win moves Chatham to 10-5 overall and 4-3 in PAC play. SVC falls to 1-13-1 overall and 1-6 in league contests.
Saint Vincent travels to Grove City on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Start time is set for 3 p.m. against the Wolverines.
