The Grove City Wolverines defeated the Saint Vincent men's soccer team by a score of 4-1 in a game held in Mercer County.
The hosts got the scoring started in the 22nd minute, as Franklin Tropiano took a cross into the box and scored. Â It would prove to be the only goal of the first half.
However, Grove City doubled their lead very early in the second half, as Trent Strick took a shot, got his own rebound, and scored to make it 2-0 just 24 seconds into the second half of play.
GCC added two more goals later in the half to take a 4-0 lead, before they were called for a foul inside the 18-yard area. Â SVC's
Ian Garay converted on the penalty kick for the lone Bearcat goal.
James Antonoplos took the loss in the net, recording five saves for Saint Vincent.
The Bearcats are now 3-13-1 overall, 0-7 in the PAC. Â Grove City improves to 9-4-4 overall, 5-1-1 in the conference. Â Up next for SVC will be Senior Day, a home match against Bethany College at 3PM on Sunday (October 29) to wrap up the season.
