LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 28) - The Saint Vincent women's swimming team claimed their first ever victory over Grove City College with a score of 149-113 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup at the Resnik Swimming Pool.
To make the victory over the reigning PAC champions even sweeter, it came on head coach
Josh Gurekovich's 41st birthday.
Leading the way for the Bearcats was freshman
Marion D'Aurora. The reigning PAC women's swimming Rookie of the Week claimed the top spots in the 1000 Free (11:13.66), the 200 Butterfly (2:11.23), and the 100 Butterfly (59.54).

Maddie Bartrug put together a strong performance, winning the 200 Free with a time of 2:00.41 and adding another first place finish in the 500 Free, clocking in at 5:27.15. Bartrug added a second place finish in the 50 Free, with a time of 25.73.

Ciara Lewis claimed top honors in the sprinting events, winning the 50 Free with a time of 25.40 and taking first in the 100 Free, touching the wall with a time of 56.30. Senior
Kelly Kramer added in another win for the Bearcats, taking top honors in the 200 Breaststroke, with a time of 2:33.05.
In the final event of the evening, the quartet of D'Aurora, freshman
Tyla Jackson, sophomore
Claire Kenna, and Lewis won the 400 Free Relay, touching the wall with a team time of 3:46.41.
Saint Vincent added a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, as the quartet of
Sarah Sheldon, Kramer, Bartrug and Lewis finished with a time of 1:53.09. Sheldon would tack on a pair of second place finishes in the 100 Back (1:04.50) and the 200 Back (2:21.62).Kenna finished in third place in both the 100 Free and 200 Free events.
Carly Grove was third place in both the 100 Breast (1:13.04) and the 200 Breast (2:33.95).
The win improved the Bearcats to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in PAC action. They will be on the road next weekend, when they travel to Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania for a non-conference match up on Saturday, Oct. 4. Meet time is set for 11 a.m.
