LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 7) – The Saint Vincent football team fell 66-12 to visiting Westminster College in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Chuck Noll Field.
After an early three and out, Westminster scored on its first offensive play from scrimmage as Paul Columbo hit Jametrius Bentley for a 64-yard touchdown to take a 7-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest.
On the ensuing drive, Saint Vincent put together a 12-play drive but turned the ball over on downs after a failed fourth down attempt at the Westminster 17-yard line.
After the turnover of downs, the Titans would drive 83 yards on nine plays, capping the drive with a nine-yard touchdown pass from Columbo to Bryson Paulinellie to make it 14-0 Westminster with 2:39 left in the first quarter.
Westminster would tack on a field goal to make it 17-0 when John Cybak connected on a 43-yard field goal at the 11:22 mark of the second quarter.
After a defensive stop forced a punt, Westminster stretched its lead to 24-0 on a seven-yard touchdown run by Dom McKinley with 7:33 left in the second quarter.
The Bearcats got on the scoreboard with 3:46 left in the first half when quarterback

Jhanard Dorsett on a 34-yard touchdown strike down the sideline.
That score cut the Bearcats' deficit to 24-6 late in the first half. However, after a personal foul penalty kept the Titans drive alive, Columbo hit Paulinellie for a 45-yard touchdown to make it 31-6 at halftime.
Navarro completed 10 of 21 passes for 88 passing yards and a touchdown. His counterpart, Columbo, went 9-for-10 for 197 yards and three passing scores.
The Titans opened the second half with another touchdown drive. Columbo capped the drive with a 15 yard pass to Chris Caldwell that made it 38-6 at the 11:27 mark of the third quarter.
Westminster tacked on three more touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 59-6 into the fourth quarter.
Saint Vincent got its lone touchdown of the second half when freshman
Zavion Thompson connected on a 37-yard touchdown pass to
DJ Oceant-Kelly with 13:45 to play in the fourth quarter. The Titans closed the scoring with a touchdown at the 2:07 mark of the fourth.
For the game, Westminster held a 531-242 edge over Saint Vincent in total yards. Westminster held a balanced attack, posting 283 passing yards and 248 rushing yards. The Titans had 29 first downs compared to just 12 for the Bearcats. SVC turned the ball over three times while Westminster was turnover free.
Navarro finished the game by completing 13 of 30 passes for 95 yards.
Aaron Austin led the Bearcats wit 41 rushing yards on six carries. Freshman linebacker
Hauns White led the defense with nine tackles.
Saint Vincent drops to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in PAC play. Meanwhile, Westminster stays unbeaten in conference play, improving to 3-0 in the PAC and 4-1 overall.
The Bearcats now enter their bye week and will return to action at Thomas More College on Saturday, Oct. 21. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.
