The SVC women's lacrosse team opened its weekend trip to Kentucky with an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference victory over Thomas More College by a score of 18-7.

Sarah Wallerstedt and Naomi Schwaiger each tallied four goals to lead the offense, while Maria Franey earned the win in the net.

The outcome was never in doubt, as the Bearcats scored the game's first eleven goals, all in the first 14 minutes of play.  Hannah Carroll, who scored three times on the afternoon, was credited with the game-winning goal, as she opened the scoring just 1:05 into play.  Wallersted assisted on the goal, the first of her three assists.

After a Schwaiger goal made it 2-0, the Bearcats went on a tear, scoring seven times in a 3:20 span to put the game out of reach.

By the half, the Bearcats were in front 15-1, outshooting the Saints 22-6.  The second half was much more even, with Thomas More holding an 11-9 edge in shots.

Joining Wallerstedt, Schwaiger and Carroll with multiple goals were Katie Stallings and Maggie Nelson, who had two each.  Nelson had a pair of assists.

Saint Vincent is now 5-2 overall, 2-0 in the ORLC and will travel deeper into Kentucky to play Transylvania University on Sunday (April 2). Both teams have are 2-0 in the ORLC, with Transylvania sitting at 7-1 overall.

With today's loss, Thomas More is now 1-5 overall, 0-1 in the ORLC.
