LATROBE, Pa. (April 26) - The Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team earned a wire-to-wire 24-14 victory over Thiel College in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference action at the SVC Turf.
The win improves SVC to 9-4 overall and 5-2 in ORLC play. Meanwhile, Thiel drops to 2-10 overall and 2-5 in league action.
Maggie Nelson recorded nine goals and five assists in the victory. Nelson, just a junior, surpassed the 200 goal mark for her career in the contest. Junior
Katie Stallings tallied a career-high seven goals in the victory.
Seniors
Sarah Wallerstedt and
Hannah Carroll each added strong showings. Wallerstedt scored four goals and added three assists, as she eclipsed the 200 point mark for her career in the game. Carroll had six points (2 goals, 4 assists) in the ORLC victory.
Senior
Anita Onufer picked up the other two goals for SVC. Nelson (11) and Wallerstedt (7) combined to win 18 draw controls.
Saint Vincent returns to action with an ORLC contest at Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday, April 29. Match time is slated for 1 p.m. in Cincinnati.
