The Bearcat women's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over Waynesburg in a non-conference match to open the season in Latrobe.
The Bearcats were winners in four singles and a pair of doubles matches. Â Waynesburg had to forfeit the #3 doubles match as well as a pair of singles events, as they only had four players available.
Tori Monstrola and
Livia Wentworth were victorious in the #1 doubles match, winning by a score of 9-7. Â In second doubles,
Emily Egler and
Jessica Hartner won by the same score, 9-7.
Claudia Clemens won the #1 singles match with scores of 7-5 and 6-2. Â
Katie Palko (#2),
Lisa Marthens (#3) and
Carson Snyder (#4) were also straight-set winners.
Saint Vincent will next face Bethany College on the road on Tuesday, September 5. Â The match will be the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener.
