The SVC men's soccer team was dominant in a 2-0 win over visiting Hilbert College in non-conference action on the SVC Turf.
SVC dominated play throughout much of the first half, and took a 1-0 lead when
Mark O'Grady's corner kick went through the hands of the Hilbert keeper, who jumped in an attempt to grab the ball out of the air. The ball went right to the foot of
Colin Pastor, who had an open net in front of him. For Pastor, it was his first collegiate goal.

For the half, SVC outshot Hilbert by a 12-2 margin.
Â
Early in the second half, SVC had a scoring opportunity near the 40-minute mark, when another O'Grady corner kick was headed toward an open corner of the net by
Brandon Lowe. However, a Hilbert defender slid in and blocked the shot just before the goal line, keeping the score 1-0.
Â
Eight minutes later, near the 32-minute mark, SVC's defense returned the favor. A Hawks shot got past SVC's
James Antonoplos, but
Michael Bethune saved the potential goal.
Â
Less than a minute later,
Josh Kucmeroski sent a pass to
David Kost, who planted a perfect shot into the left upper corner of the net, making it 2-0 in favor of the Bearcats.
For the afternoon, Saint Vincent had 29 shots, while allowing just 5 by the Hawks.
SVC is now 2-4-1 on the year, while Hilbert drops to 0-4 on the year.
