LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 16) - The Saint Vincent women's tennis team was in action Saturday, as they took to courts against Westminster for a Presidents' Athletic Conference match. The Titans handed the Bearcats their first loss of the year by a score of 7-2.
 
Saint Vincent fell behind early, dropping two of the three doubles contests. The third doubles pairing of junior Lisa Marthens and sophomore Tori Monstrola got the Bearcats on the board with an 8-3 victory.
 
Needing to claim five of the six singles matches the Bearcats were unable to get it done. Saint Vincent's lone point in singles came again from Marthens, with a straight sets 6-0, 6-1 victory at fifth singles. With the win, Marthens improved to 5-0 this season in singles play. 
 
With the loss the Bearcats drop to 4-1 (2-1 PAC) on the year. They will be back in action on Sunday, September 17 for an early morning home match with NCAA Division II Seton Hill University. Start time is slated for 10 a.m.
