Bearcats suffer overtime loss at Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. (Sept. 19) - The Saint Vincent women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 overtime road setback to Pitt-Bradford in non-conference action.

After the two teams played through 90 scoreless minutes of regulation, the home team only needed 47 seconds of overtime to score the game winner. Kaitlyn Williams of UPB tallied her first score of the season, off a pass from Abby Celesky for the game's lone goal.

Saint Vincent was led by junior goalkeeper Corinne Burk, who recorded a season-high 12 saves in just a little more than 90 minutes of action. Senior forward Maggie Nelson recorded four of the Bearcats seven shots in the loss.

UPB held a 22-7 shot differential and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks over SVC.

The loss puts SVC at 0-5-1, while Pitt-Bradford evens its record at 4-4.

The Bearcats return to action with a non-conference road tilt against Hood College on Saturday, Sept. 23. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
