FREDERICK, Md. (Sept. 23) - A valiant effort by the Saint Vincent women's soccer team came up just short in a 3-2 road loss to Hood College in Maryland.
The Bearcats got on the scoreboard first when sophomore

The score remained at 1-1 through the first 45 minutes as the contest entered halftime. Hood added two scores during the early stages of the second half to take a 3-1 lead with about 30 minutes left in the match. In the 80th minute, junior
Natalie Luppold scored off a deflected free kick to bring the Bearcats' deficit to 3-2. However, SVC was unable to add the equalizer and suffered their fourth one-goal defeat this season.
Sophomore
Leah Memmo paced the Bearcats with three shots. Junior goalkeeper
Corinne Burk recorded seven saves during 90 minutes in net.
The loss drops SVC to 0-6-1 on the season, while Hood improves to 7-1-1.
