PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 8) - Despite holding an early lead, the Saint Vincent women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at La Roche in non-conference play.

The Bearcats scored first when junior midfielder Calsey Holshue scored an unassisted goal in the 29th minute of play. Saint Vincent held the lead for a little more than 10 minutes before La Roche evened the score with an unassisted goal from Vanessa Ceravolo in the 39th minute.

In the 57th minute, Ceravolo struck again, tallying her second goal of the contest to give the Redhawks a 2-1 advantage. Despite several chances down the stretch for both teams the game ended with that score, handing SVC its second straight loss by a single goal.

Holshue led the Bearcats offensively, with four shots including her first goal of the season. Junior Natalie Luppold recorded three shots while sophomore Leah Memmo chipped in two. Junior goalkeeper Corinne Burk tallied six saves in 90 minutes of action in net.
