Women's swimming caps first ever undefeated PAC regular season

LATROBE, Pa. (Jan. 27) - The Saint Vincent women's swimming team closed out its first ever undefeated regular season against Presidents' Athletic Conference competition, topping Westminster College, with a score of 182-112 at Resnik Pool on Senior Day. 

The quartet of Sarah Sheldon, Kelly Kramer, Maddie Bartrug and Ciara Lewis established a new pool record, winning the 200 Medley Relay, with a time of 1:51.99.

Marion D'Aurora put together a strong performance winning the 1000 Free, with a time of 11:09.69. The freshman also won the 100 Butterfly and 200 Butterfly, with times of 1:01.10 and 2:16.00, respectively. 

In the 200 Free, Bartrug put together a dominating performance, almost winning the event by 10 seconds, with a time of 1:56.71. The sophomore also won the 500 Free, touching the wall at 5:18.10. 

Sheldon took top honors in both the 100 and 200 Backstroke, with times of 1:02.17 and 2:15.87. In the 50 and 100 Free, Lewis took first place in both events, clocking in with times of 25.17 and 55.77.

Kramer put together a strong performance taking top honors in all three of her individual events. The senior won the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.03 and the 200 Breaststroke touching the wall at 2:30.49. Kramer also won the 200 Individual Medley, with a time of 2:17.88.

Finishing off the meet, the quartet of Claire Kenna, D'Aurora, Samantha Mears and Lewis, took the top spot in the 200 Free Relay at 1:42.22.

On the men's side, the Bearcats lost 185-109 dropping to 2-2 in the conference.

Zach Baum had the performance of the meet, winning the 200 Butterfly, with a time of 2:01.07. The Freshman also won the 100 Butterfly clocking in at 51.16 establishing a new pool record in the event. 

Adam Gordish took top honors in the 100 Backstroke on Senior Day, out-touching his opponent by .1 clocking in at 56.15.

In the 50 Free, Jacob Davis finished in 21.92 to win the event. The junior also won the 100 Free, with a time of 46.46, to set a new pool record in the event.

The men finished off the meet with a first place finish in the 200 Free Relay. The quartet of Baum, Kam Faychak, Alex Bolen, and Davis finished in 1:27.80. 

The Bearcats will be back in action, Saturday, February 3 for non-conference match up at Penn State Behrend. The meet will start at 1 p.m.
