The Saint Vincent women's tennis team improved to 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 9-0 sweep of Thiel College on the road in Greenville.
The Bearcats rolled through doubles play with three identical 8-2 victories. First on the board was the third doubles pairing of Livia Wentworth and Lauren Hartner. Next to finish was the first doubles team of Lucy Bujdos and Autumn Miller, followed by Lisa Marthens and Jessica Hartner at second doubles.Â
Bujdos was the first to finish in singles, as she claimed the first singles point by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Seeing her first singles action of the season at fifth singles, Lauren Hartner also captured a 6-0, 6-0 straight set win to clinch the match for Saint Vincent. The Bearcats rounded out the match with four more straight set victories.
Following the win, Saint Vincent's record sits at 5-2 (3-1 PAC) on the year. The Bearcats will be back in action on Friday, October 5 for a Presidents' Athletic Conference road match against the Westminster Titans. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.
