LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 13) - A goal by Kayla Trozzi with 23 seconds left helped the Westminster Titans to a 1-0 victory over the Saint Vincent College women's soccer team in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at UPMC Field.
The last minute goal dashed the Bearcats chance at knocking off the Titans, who improved to 5-0 in PAC play and 12-3 overall. The loss drops SVC to 4-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in conference games.
After playing the past eight games as a field player, senior
Corinne Burk made her return to net. Burk did not disappoint, making a season-high 11 saves to slow down the Titans offense and give the Bearcats a chance at victory.
For the game, Westminster held advantages in shots (22-6), shots on goal (12-3) and corner kicks (2-1). The Bearcats committed eight fouls, while the Titans had five.
Senior defender
Caity Pietrusza recorded two shots, both on goal, to pace the SVC offense.
