LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 23) - The Saint Vincent women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to first place Grove City College in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at UPMC Field.

The win keeps Grove City unbeaten in PAC play, as the Wolverines improve to 7-0-0 in league contests and 14-3 overall. The win was the 12th straight overall for Grove City, who has not allowed a goal in seven conference games this season.

Meanwhile, Saint Vincent falls to 4-10-1 overall and 0-6-1 in league play.

The visiting Wolverines tallied a pair of goals in each half on their way to earning the conference victory. GCC opened the scoring in the 6th minute when Krista Heckman tallied a score off of a cross from Maggie Williams.

Colleen Zilka buried a long distance shot from 25 yards out, lifting the ball over the SVC goalkeeper and off the left post and into the back of the net. The goal by Zilka made the score 2-0 in the 11th minute of action. The Wolverines maintained the multi-score advantage to take a 2-0 edge into halftime.

Maggie Williams split the defenders to break down the SVC defense and score unassisted in the 59th minute. The goal was the PAC leading 11th for Williams. Michaela Burke closed the scoring for Grove City with a goal in the 62nd minute.

Grove City held a 21-10 advantage over SVC in shots, including a 10-3 edge in shots on goal. The Wolverines also recorded six corner kicks to just one for the Bearcats.

Corinne Burk started and played all 90 minutes in net for Saint Vincent. The senior recorded six saves, three in each half, in her final collegiate game in Latrobe.

Natalie Luppold and Katie Ryan registered three shots each to pace the offense.

Saint Vincent closes out the 2018 season with a road trip to West Virginia. The Bearcats travel to Bethany College for a PAC contest on Saturday, Oct. 27. Start time is slated for 1 p.m.
