Greensburg, PA (October 28) -- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team capped off its season with an 8-1 win against Pitt-Greensburg.
The Bearcats rolled to a 3-0 lead following doubles play. Livia Wentworth and Lauren Hartner started doubles off with an 8-1 win in the three hole. Shortly thereafter Lucy Bujdos and Maura Skelley capped off an 8-0 victory at first doubles. Autumn Miller and Lisa Marthens rounded out doubles play with an 8-2 win in second doubles.
Saint Vincent again struck first in singles play, as Marthens overwhelmed her opponent at fourth singles on the way to a 6-0, 6-1 win. Skelley clinched the match for the Bearcats with a 6-0, 6-2 drubbing at second singles. Bujdos, Miller, and Wentworth also captured straight sets victories for Saint Vincent.
The victory pushes the Bearcats' win total to seven, a one win improvement over last year, and sets their record at 7-7 to conclude the fall season.Â
