The Geneva Golden Tornadoes scored three goals in just over six minutes early, then cruised to a 4-0 victory over Saint Vincent in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at UPMC Field.
Geneva's Michael Pohlod worked his way past SVC keeper
Nick Bohn in the 13th minute, scoring his first goal of the season. It would prove to be the game-winning goal.
In the 19th minute, Jake Broadwick scored off a cross from Liam O'Halloran, making it 2-0. The Bearcats turned the ball over quickly after the ensuing kickoff, and O'Halloran dribbled past the defense and scored, just 44 seconds after the previous goal.
Alex Yoder scored on a breakaway in the 32nd minute, allowing the Golden Tornadoes to take a 4-0 lead at the half.
In the half, Geneva had 8 shots, while SVC managed just two.
The second half was played more conservatively, but SVC's
Paul Haga posted three late saves to keep both teams off the scoreboard.
For the game, the Bearcats recorded just one shot on goal, while Geneva had 9.
Saint Vincent is now 0-2 in the PAC, 1-10 overall. Geneva improves to 1-1 in the conference, 4-5-1 overall. SVC returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Greenville to face Thiel College at 3:30.
