GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 6) - The Saint Vincent College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with the Thiel College Tomcats in a Presidents' Athletic Conference road match.
Both teams played to a scoreless first half, as the host Tomcats out-shot SVC by a 5-2 margin over the first 45 minutes.
Saint Vincent cracked the scoreboard first when
Mark O'Grady send a cross into the box, assisting on a score by
Brandon Lowe in the 54th minute of play. It looked as though Saint Vincent would have a chance to record a PAC road win.
However, Thiel took advantage of a foul in the box on Saint Vincent, which set up a penalty kick opportunity for the Tomcats. Cole Duskey made the penalty kick, tying the match with just a little more than three minutes remaining in regulation.
Neither team could tally the game-winning score during the two overtime sessions, as the hosts out-shot SVC by a 3-2 margin over the final 20 minutes.
For the match, Thiel held a sizable advantage in shots (18-7). However, the Tomcats held only a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. Saint Vincent held a 10-6 advantage in corner kicks over Thiel. The two teams combined for 34 fouls and six cards in a physical contest.

Cris White recorded two shots each in the game.
Nick Bohn made six saves during his 110 minutes in net.
Saint Vincent moves to 1-10-1 overall and 0-2-1 in PAC play. Thiel sits at 5-7-1 overall and 1-1-1 in league contests.
The Bearcats host Westminster College at UPMC Field on Saturday, Oct. 13. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
