FULL RESULTS
The Saint Vincent Bearcat Swim Teams traveled to Grove City College to take on the Wolverines in their third dual meet of the season. The women's team came up short with a final score of 154-130, and the men fell 165-95. Both teams go to 1-1 in the PAC.
Marion D'Aurora dominated in the 1000 Freestyle, winning the event with a time of 11:24.83.
In the 200 Freestyle,
Maddie Bartrug finished on top at 1:59.29.
Claire Kenna came in second, finishing with a time of 2:06.12.
Later in the meet,
Carly Grove won the 200 Breaststroke, with a strong 2:34.19. Meanwhile, Bartrug returned to the top in the 500 Freestyle, touching the wall at 5:29.83.
Ciara Lewis and
Lauren Krecota both put on notable performances in the 400 IM. Lewis finished first with a 5:03.78, while Krecota came in close behind at 5:04.20.
The Women's 200 Freestyle Relay found Bartrug, Kenna, D'Aurora, and
Samantha Mears emerge victorious, clocking in at 1:41.14.
Jacob Davis scored the first victory for the men in the 200 Freestyle, with an dominant time of 1:45.00. Davis also found victory in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle, finishing at 21.51 and 46.46, respectively.
John Martin was narrowly out-touched by Grove City's Ben Slate in a competitive 200 Yard Breaststroke. Martin touched the wall at 2:18.12.
Zach Baum also came close to victory in the 100 Butterfly, finishing second with a strong time of 53.24, close behind Grove City's Rhys Dickhudt.
In the final 200 Freestyle Relay, the quartet of Baum,
Ethan Yant, Martin, and Davis came from behind to claim first place in an exciting race. The men clocked in at 1:27.99.
The losses drop both teams to 1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference this season.
The both Bearcats team will travel to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, next weekend to take part in the three-day Franklin & Marshall Invitational at Franklin & Marshall College.
