A shorthanded Bearcat squad dropped three games on the road against Pitt-Bradford, falling in one traditional and two Baker sets.
Samm Firestone led SVC in the traditional game, shooting a 184, but the Panthers were bolstered by a pair of 200+ games, winning the game by a score of 814-735.
In the first Baker set, SVC took a 41-pin lead after the first game, then threw a 187 in the second, but Bradford responded with a 189 to cut the gap to 39 pins. Â The Bearcats won only one of the final three games, while the Panthers countered with a 189 in game three and took a 4-pin lead after the fourth game. Â The hosts then won the deciding game by 14 pins to win the total by 18.
The Bearcats struggled throughout the third match of the night, another 5-game Baker set, winning just two of the five games with a high of 163 in the fifth game, falling by 71 pins.Â
Firestone averaged 19.4 in the Baker sets, followed by Danielle Koehler, at 17.1
SVC returns to action on Sunday (February 11), hosting Ursuline College at 1PM at Hillview Lanes.
