LATROBE, Pa. (April 11) – The Saint Vincent men's tennis team bounced back from their first Presidents' Athletic Conference loss with a 5-4 home win against Westminster.
The Bearcats came out of the gates strong, sweeping all three points in doubles play.
Alex DeLuca and
Luke Good got the match started, winning 8-3 at third doubles.
Ryan Hartz and
Zach Fox kept the momentum going as they rallied from down 6-5 to claim the second doubles point, 8-6. Shortly thereafter,
Jonathan Prichard and
Jon Oskin secured a victory at first doubles by a score of 8-5.
In singles play, Oskin was the first to finish as he cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at second singles. Westminster struck back claiming the next two singles points at first and third singles respectively, before DeLuca clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-1 effort at sixth singles.
With the win, Saint Vincent's record sits at 6-7 (3-1 PAC) on the year. The Bearcats will return to the Greensburg Racquet Club Friday, April 13 when they host PAC foe Thiel College at noon.
