LATROBE, Pa. (April 21) - Jeremy Kennedy set a new single-season goals record as the Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team earned a 13-10 victory over Hanover College on Senior Day.

Kennedy recorded five goals in the contest to lead the Bearcats to victory. The five-goal performance pushed his season total to 56, helping him break Nick Pensyl's old record of 52 which was set in 2015. Kennedy also set a new single-season points record, surpassing Pensyl's total of 75 from the 2015 season.

Anthony Hogeback put together a strong Senior Day effort, tallying two goals and adding three assists. Hogeback now sits at 99 assists for his career.

Saint Vincent got off to a slow start, trailing 3-0 after the first quarter. A pair of goals by Kennedy helped the Bearcats cut the deficit to 4-2 at halftime. The second half belonged to Saint Vincent, which included a 6-2 advantage in the third quarter, to help SVC take an 8-6 lead.

After Hanover opened the fourth quarter with a score to get within one (8-7), Saint Vincent responded with three of the next four goals, including two man-up scores from Kennedy to make it 11-8. The Bearcats were able to maintain at least a two goal advantage the rest of the way to close out the victory.

Hunter Sharp, Ben Price and Alex Mueser each added two goals to help bolster the offense. Luke Falvo and Frank Casile picked up six ground balls apiece, while Michael Grus added five ground balls and three caused turnovers. John Wohlin won 6-of-10 face-offs in the midfield, while Brandon Martin made nine saves in 60 minutes of work in goal.

Saint Vincent held several advantages on the team stat sheet: shots (57-31), ground balls (39-26) and face-off wins (14-9).

With the win, the Bearcats move to 8-0 in ORLC play and 12-3 overall. Hanover drops to 6-2 in league contests and 6-8 overall.

Saint Vincent hosts W&J for another league contest on Wednesday, April 24. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
