The SVC women's soccer team lost by a score of 2-1 at the hands of crosstown rival Pitt-Greensburg in a non-conference game at UPMC Field.

The Bobcats got on the board in a hurry, scoring just over two minutes into the game.  Tiffany Michalek slipped past the defense and scored to put the visitors in front, 1-0.

After that, SVC keeper Abigail Johnson kept the game close with several saves, and forward Katie Ryan was able to tie the game in the 27th minute.  Leah Memmo sent a corner kick into the box and Ryan headed it in for the score, making it 1-1.

However, just over nine minutes later, Pitt's Bri Burgunder, who had 8 shots on the afternoon, blasted the eventual game-winner into the net from 10 yards out.

Neither team was able to score in the second half, as Johnson made 9 saves over the final 45 minutes for the Bearcats.  She finished the day with 12 saves.  UPG outshot Saint Vincent by a 23-10 margin on the day.  Ryan had 5 shots for the Bearcats.

SVC is now 2-2 on the year and will return to action on Saturday, September 15, traveling to Hamburg, New York to face Hilbert College.
