FROSTBURG, Md. (Sept. 2) - The Saint Vincent men's soccer team suffered a 4-1 loss to DeSales University at the Frostburg State University Tournament.
Facing a DeSales team that qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament a season ago, SVC trailed 1-0 at halftime after giving up a goal in the 5th minute of play. The Bulldogs tacked on respective scores in the 58th, 69th and 83rd minutes to strengthen the lead to 4-0.
Saint Vincent tallied its first goal of the year when
Zach D'Amico scored in the 85th minute off a pass from
Cris White.
For the game, DeSales out-shot SVC by a 29-7 margin, including holding a decisive 20-5 edge in the second half. The Bulldogs attempted nine corner kicks to just three for the Bearcats.
Nick Bohn started in goal, tallying four saves during the first half.
Matthew Balas made six saves while surrendering three goals over the final 45 minutes.
Ian Garay added a team-high three shots in the loss.

Cameron Yoder were named to the Frostburg State All-Tournament Team.
Saint Vincent drops to 0-2 overall and returns to action at Juniata College on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
