The Bearcat men's soccer team earned its first victory of the season by a 2-0 margin over Penn State-Altoona on the road in non-conference play.
The Lions held the advantage during the first half, posting 11 shots compared to just six for the Bearcats, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. Â SVC keeper
Nick Bohn recorded five first-half saves, keeping the hosts off the board.
In the second half, the Bearcats were able to make adjustments and control play. Â In the 54th minute, freshmanÂ
Cris White's shot went into the upper right corner of the net, giving SVC a 1-0 lead. Â Senior
Zach D'Amico was credited with the assist. Â For White, it was his first collegiate goal. Â
A little over seven minutes later, the Bearcats put the game out of reach, as D'Amico sent a pass to
Roberto Fulweiler, who was able to score from a difficult angle. Â It was the freshman's second goal of the season.
Saint Vincent totaled 9 shots in the second half, while Altoona was held to just three.  Bohn went the distance in the net and earned the win.
The Bearcats (1-7) will return to action on Saturday at 1PM, hosting Hood College at UPMCÂ Field on the Saint Vincent campus.
