WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 29) - The Saint Vincent men's soccer team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference play with a 6-0 loss on the road at Waynesburg University.
The host Yellow Jackets jumped out a 2-0 lead at halftime, tallying a goal each in the 15th and 29th minute. Waynesburg tacked on four more goals in the second half, including two from Thomas Robinson, to take the conference victory.
Waynesburg held several major advantages over Saint Vincent which included shots (21-6), shots on goal (13-4) and corner kicks (11-6).
Nick Bohn started and worked the first 45 minutes in net, making one save and allowing two goals.
Matthew Balas worked the second half, allowing four goals and stopping five shots.
The loss drops SVC to 1-9 overall and 0-1 in the PAC. Waynesburg moves to 4-6 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Saint Vincent hosts Geneva College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at UPMC Field. Start time is slated for 4 p.m.
