The Saint Vincent women's soccer team opened the conference portion of the schedule with a 4-1 loss on the road at Waynesburg University.
Waynesburg took a 1-0 lead just over 10 minutes into play on a goal by Leesha Wagner. Â In the 31st minute, a Bearcat foul led to a free kick from 40 yards out, and Teagan Jenner's kick was headed in by Emily Hill, making it 2-0.
Early in the second half, Wagner added her second goal of the game, and Gina Bonura made the score 4-0 with a goal i the 59th minute.
The lone Bearcat goal came in the 66th minute, when
Katie Ryan scored after a Bearcat corner kick.
SVC is now 4-5 overall, 0-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Â Waynesburg improves to 5-2-2 overall, 1-0 in the PAC. Â The Bearcats return to action on Tuesday afternoon (October 2) in Latrobe, hosting Geneva at 4PM at UPMC Field. Â
