The Saint Vincent Bearcat bowling team split two traditional games on the road at Pitt-Bradford, then fell 4-3 in a best-of-seven Baker set.
In its first match since mid-December, the team dropped a 796-740 decision in game one.
Jessica Guesman led the way for SVC with a 170, while
Julie Reichert finished with a 151.
In game two, SVC turned things around, throwing a 908 game to Bradford's 646.
Morgan Barlock led the team with a season-high 201, while Guesman finished with a 200.
Meghan Christman (178),
Mercedes Belch (171) and
Abby Kyle (158) completed the scoring for SVC.
The final point of the night was a Baker set, and SVC fell behind quickly two games to zero. The team then bounced back with a 157-144 win in game three, followed by a 165-145 win game four.
The hosts retook the lead 3-2 after a 174-130 win in game five but SVC responded by winning game six, 171-135. However, the Bearcats struggled again in the deciding game, falling 149-134 to take the loss.
Saint Vincent is now 21-7 on the season, and will return to action on Friday, January 25 with a USBC matchup on the road in Erlanger, Kentucky against Thomas More College.
