In the first conference meet of the new year, Saint Vincent women's swimming team dropped a close competition to Chatham University. The final score was 136-126. The team's record drops to 2-5 in Presidents' Athletic Conference.
The 200 medley relay saw
Ciara Lewis,
Carly Grove,
Lauren Krecota, and
Claire Kenna finish in second place with a time of 1:56.39.
Marion D'Aurora would also come in second in the following event, the 1650 Freestyle, touching the wall at 18:58.67.
Lewis would find victory in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at a remarkable 1:04.75. She would return to the top again in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.79.
Senior
Maddie Bartrug would secure a strong victory in the 500 Freestyle, finishing with a time of 5:26.77. D'Aurora would also come in first place in the 100 Butterfly; her time was 1:03.09. Krecota would then top the 400 IM, touching the wall at 5:06.84.
In the final event, the 200 Freestyle relay, Bartrug, D'Aurora,
Samantha Mears, and Kenna would emerge victorious. They topped the event with a time of 1:44.72.
Both the men's and women's teams will journey to Westminster College next week on Saturday, January 26th at 1PM.
