The Bearcats returned to Presidents' Athletic Conference action with a convincing 80-47 victory at home over Westminster College.
With the win, SVC is now 4-0 in the conference, 10-2 overall. Â

Jenna Lafko got the scoring started just under one minute into play, but the visitors later took a 5-4 lead on a three-pointer by Jackie Matthews at the 7:31 mark.

After Lafko scored again to put SVC in front, a steal by
Kayla Slovenec led to a score by
Paige Montrose that made the score 8-5. Â

Later, up 14-9, SVC got a spark from
Taylor Boring, who scored five straight points, on a three pointer and a long two, giving SVC a 17-9 advantage.  The run continued with a Montrose layup, a jumper by
Erin Giancola, and another Montrose layup, this one set up by a steal from
Bri Van Volkenburg. The 11-0 run to end the quarter made the score 25-9 after the first 10 minutes of play.
Maria Morgan hit a pair of threes early in the second quarter, helping to extend the lead to 34-11.

A 9-point run by the Titans cut the margin to 14 (34-20), but
Madison Kollar hit a pair of shots, including a three, to help build the lead to 39-22 late in the period.  The Bearcats took a 41-24 lead into the break.

The Bearcats started the second half with a 16-0 run over the first six minutes of play.  Montrose hit a jumper to start the half, then Slovenec cashed in on a three-pointer. Lafko then drove through the paint and scored on a layup, and followed a minute later with a pair of free throws.  She continued her personal 7-point run with a three, making the score 53-24.  Kollar drew a foul and hit both shots to extend the run, then scored on a jumper that made the score 57-24. Â

Westminster outscored the hosts by a 7-4 margin in the closing minutes of the quarter, making it a 61-31 game after 30 minutes.

In the fourth, five points from
Taylor Geer put SVC in front by a score of 72-34 near the midway point of the quarter. Â

Threes by
Maria Claybaugh and
Katie Cramer made it a 78-42 game with just over two minutes to go, and the Bearcats went on to a 33-point victory. Â

Four Bearcats scored in double figures, led by Montrose and Kollar with 13 each.  Lafko and Boring each tallied 11.  Kollar grabbed 7 rebounds, while Lafko added 6. Â
Westminster falls to 4-9 overall, 2-3 in the conference. Â
