The Saint Vincent women's bowling team struggled on tough lane conditions, but picked up three victories over Penn State-Behrend on the road in Erie, Pennsylvania.
With the wins, the Bearcats are now 9-0 on the season.
In the first traditional game, SVC trailed much of the way, but a key double by freshman
Olivia Emmonds helped lift the Bearcats to a 794-774 victory. Emmonds had the high game with a 170. SVC then won the second traditional game by a score of 790-729.
The format then switched to a 5-game Baker team set, and SVC won the first game by a score of 170-163. After a 167-154 win in game two put SVC in front by 20 total pins, the Bearcats came through with games of 179 and 180 in the next two games, opening up a 61-pin lead. The Bearcats closed the night with a 160-152 win in the final game, to win the point by a score of 856-787.
Freshman
Kayla Grudinsky led the team in Bakers, with a per-frame average of 20.8 (game equivalent of 208), while
Jessica Guesman recorded a 19.0.
Mercedes Belch scored an average of 17.5 per frame in Baker play.
The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday (November 3), traveling to Wickliffe, Ohio for a head-to-head match against Ursuline College.
