The Saint Vincent College men's soccer team played in its first Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup of the year. The Bearcats and the Cougars played through two overtimes to a 1-1 draw.

Before the match, Saint Vincent honored its 2019 seniors on both the men's and women's teams. Seniors Caroline Snyder,
Matthew Balas,
Sebastian Lambert,
Nick Bianchi and
Leo Wilson were recognized for their time with the programs.

The first half was evenly matched between Chatham and Saint Vincent as the game went to the break scoreless. The Cougars held the slight shot edge, 4-3, with both goalies making a save.

The second half started similar to the first but Chatham began to possess the ball in its offensive zone. In the 75th minute, Chatham broke the scoreless tie as Ryan Tahbaz scored from 25 yards on a free kick.

The Bearcats trailed till the 89th minute when sophomore
Griffin Prinkey scored his first collegiate goal. The goal went in from seven yards out to even the score at one.Â

The game headed into the first period of overtime tied at one. Both teams had opportunities but none were successful as the first overtime ended. The same was said for the second overtime but once again, none prevailed as the game ended tied at one.

Both teams finished with 12 shots while freshman
Zachary Gibbons made five saves for the Bearcats.Â

Saint Vincent is now 1-8-2 overall, 0-0-1 in the PAC as the team travels west to Washington, Pa. to face Washington & Jefferson College. Start time is 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
