Bowling team improves to 21-1



The Saint Vincent women's bowling team improved its record to 21-1 on the season with a three-game sweep over Penn State-Behrend at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg.

The Bearcats captured the opening game by 203 pins, winning 824-621.  Meghan Christman threw strikes in frames 7, 8 and 9 and finished with a 172.  Olivia Emmonds shot a 170, while Dani Koehler finished with a 168.

In the second game, Emmonds had the top score, shooting a 195, while Christman finished with a 188, and Koehler shot 181.  The Bearcats won the game by a score of 878-645.

The final point of the night was in a five-game Baker set, and the Bearcats jumped out to a 33-pin lead by winning the first game, 186-153.  SVC then pulled away in game two, shooting a 185 to the Lions' 130.  After five games, SVC won the point with a score of 835 to Behrend's 717.  Koehler led the way in the Baker games with a 23.4 per-frame average, or a 234 game equivalent.  Morgan Barlock finished at 21.0, while Jessica Guesman finished with an average of 19.1.

The Bearcats will travel to New York on Friday to face D'Youville College at 5:30 p.m. at Airport Lanes in Cheektowaga.
