The Saint Vincent Bearcat swim teams welcomed Allegheny College for their first home meet of the season. A non-conference competition, both teams were defeated by the Gators. The women lost 191-100, dropping to 2-1 overall, while the men lost 173-114 and go to 1-2 overall.
The women started off strong in the 200 Medley Relay.

Claire Kenna,
Katie Kozy, and
Erica Steele clocked in at 1:52.47 to take first place.
The women struggled to find a win after the medley relay, though
Marion D'Aurora and Connors would emerge victorious before the evening's conclusion. D'Aurora won the 200 Freestyle (2:00.64) and the 500 Freestyle (5:33.78), while Connors won the 100 Backstroke (1:00.49) and the 200 Backstroke (2:13.12).
Kozy would also return to the top, taking first place in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:00.15.
The men also had a hard time finding first place; however, they did find success in the relays. In the 200 Medley Relay, the quartet of
Kris Smith,
John Martin,
Ethan Yant, and
Danny Whirlow finished first with a time of 1:40.27. In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Yant, Smith, J. Martin, and
Zach Baum hit the wall at 1:28.78 to claim the top spot.
Baum achieved several individual victories, with first place finishes in the 50 Freestyle (21.40), 100 Freestyle (47.84), and the 100 Butterfly (51.79).
The Bearcats' next meet will be at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, Nov. 2. The meet will begin at 11 a.m.
