The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team opened the 2019 home campaign with an overtime, 15-14 loss to Marymount University.

The Bearcats notched the first goal of the game as
Joe Puvel scored 2:21 into play. Just over a minute later,
Ben Price scored to put SVC up 2-0.

The Saints responded with five-straight goals to claim a 5-2 lead.
Danny Tare got Saint Vincent back on the board as he scored off a
Jeremy Kennedy pass at the 4:30 mark.
Jon Succop followed Tare with a man-up goal 1:06 later thanks to a
Zach Novelli assist. Marymount still led 5-4 at the end of the first.

The Saints scored the first three goals of the second period until
Alec Richard scored with 4:50 remaining in the half. Saint Vincent then scored its second man-up goal as Kennedy picked up his second assist off
Tyler Condrasky's goal.

Marymount scored the final two goals of the half and led 10-6 as both teams took a 10-minute break.

Ryan Filyo opened the second half scoring just 1:10 into the action. Kennedy followed up with his first goal of the game cutting the deficit to two, 10-8.

Even though the Saints matched the two goals, Kennedy brought the lead back to two as he scored with 5:13 left in the third as Puvel collected an assist. Almost, three minutes later, Kennedy scored on a man-up situation as
Ben Price tallied a helper. The Bearcats trailed 12-10 going to the final period of regulation.

Although Marymount got the first goal in the period, Saint Vincent rattled off three goals in 59 seconds. Price, Kennedy and Condrasky scored in order to tie the game at 13.

Just under four minutes remaining in the fourth, the Saints recaptured the lead, 14-13. The Bearcats garnered a man-up situation and with 57 seconds left in regulation, Condrasky scored his third goal and sent the game into overtime.

Just 58 seconds into overtime, Marymount's Clark Akers scored the game winning goal.

Kennedy paced Saint Vincent with four goals and two assists on seven shots. Condrasky and Price both contributed three points. Although making 16 saves, Martin recorded the loss.

Even though Saint Vincent won 17-of-33 faceoffs, Marymount led in shots 31-29.

The Bearcats (0-3) hit the road to face Methodist University on Tuesday, March 5 in Fayetteville, N.C. Game time is 1 p.m.
