Lacrosse team drops 12-7 decision in North Carolina

The Saint Vincent lacrosse team traveled to Fayetteville, North Carolina and lost a non-conference game to Methodist University by a score of 12-7.

After the hosts got on the board just over five minutes into play, Ben Price answered for SVC, tying the game at 1-1 at the 7:49 mark of the first.  However, Methodist added two more first period goals, and ran the lead to 4-1 just over 30 seconds into the second quarter.

Price, off a pass from Tyler Condrasky, once again found the net two minutes later, reducing the deficit to just two.  After Methodist scored to make it 5-3, Danny Tare scored, assisted by Alec Richard, to make it 5-3.

However, the next five goals of the game, stretching to the midway point of the third quarter, went to Methodist as they opened a 7-goal lead, 10-3.

SVC's Jon Succop then took control of the game, scoring three consecutive goals within two and a half minutes to make it a 10-6 game, but it was as close as the Bearcats would get.

Succop's three goals led the offense, while Price added two.  Tare and Jeremy Kennedy had one goal each.  Zach Novelli, Richard, Condrasky and Matthew Prock each had an assist.

The Bearcats are now 0-4 on the season, and will return to action on Saturday, March 9 with a matchup in Maryland with Hood College.
