The Saint Vincent men's tennis team won its fifth straight match, improving to 5-1 on the season, with a 7-2 win over Geneva College on the road.
With the victory, the Bearcats are now 1-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Â
The Bearcats swept through doubles play for the fourth time this season.
Alex DeLuca and
Josh Boland got on the board first with an 8-1 win at third doubles.
Zach Fox teamed with
Mauricio Sanchez to claim an 8-2 victory at second doubles to put Saint Vincent up 2-0.
Jon Oskin and
Ryan Hartz pushed the lead to 3-0 with an 8-4 decision at first doubles.
Saint Vincent continued to roll in singles play as DeLuca rushed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles, before Sanchez clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the two spot. Boland stayed perfect in singles on the year with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at sixth singles while Oskin played an unforgettable three-set match at first singles, winning 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.
The Bearcats return to the Greensburg Racquet Club for a PAC matchup with the Westminster Titans on Friday, March 29 at 1:00 PM.
