The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team opened the conference portion of the 2019 schedule with an 8-5 victory on the road over Westminster College.
Frank Casile got the scoring started for the Bearcats just over three minutes into the first quarter, scoring off a pass from
Zach Novelli. Â Just over a minute later,
Ben Price doubled the lead.
After the Titans closed the gap to 2-1 just 41 seconds later, both defenses settled in, and neither team was able to score for nearly 12 minutes.  At the 13:45 mark of the second quarter, Novelli pick up another assist, as
Tyler Condrasky scored to make it a 3-1 game.
With the score 3-2, the Titans tallied a goal with just 7 seconds remaining in the first half, sending the teams into the halftime break with the game tied.
Westminster took its first lead of the game with 12:29 left in the third quarter, but
Jeremy Kennedy answered just over two minutes later to tie the game, 4-4. Â At the 7:38 mark, the Titans once again took the lead, but it would prove to be their final goal of the game.
Kennedy tied the game at 5-5 with 1:06 left in the third, then Novelli put SVC in front to stay, scoring with just 24 seconds left in the third quarter.
Kennedy scored twice in the fourth, with Condrasky providing both assists, to secure the win.
Brandon Martin went the distance in goal for SVC, recording 10 total saves, including four in the fourth quarter.
SVC is now 3-6 overall, 1-0 on the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Â The team will return to action on Sunday, April 7, hosting Washington & Jefferson College.
