Eleven different Bearcats recorded goals as Saint Vincent defeated Bethany College by a score of 20-3 on the road in West Virginia in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup.
Jeremy Kennedy led the way with five goals, including three in the first quarter within two minutes, to help SVC build a 6-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Â
Frank Casile, who had scored the game's first two goals, added his third of the day just under three minutes into the second quarter, to make it a 7-0 game.
In all, the Bearcats tallied seven goals in the second quarter, one each by seven different players, to take a 13-2 lead at the half. Â
Kevin Tregoning started in goal, played the first 30 minutes, and made four saves.
With Michael Sperling in the net in the third quarter, the SVC defense shut out the hosts, while the offense added four more goals, including two more by Kennedy. Â
Caleb Bouch worked the final 15 minutes in goal for SVC, and the offense scored three times.
Following Kennedy on the scoresheet was Casile with a four-point day, scoring three goals and an assist. Â
Stone Haberstroh scored one goal and assisted on three others. Â
Alec Richard had a goal and two assists, while
Ben Price,
Jon Succop and Jacob Lefchik each recorded two goals. Â
Ryan Filyo, Max Shuler,
Zach Wisniewski, and
Joe Puvel each had one goal. Â
Saint Vincent is now 3-0 in the PAC, 5-6 overall. Â The team will host Grove City College on Saturday (April 13) at 5PM, in a battle of unbeaten teams in conference play.
