Price joins 100-Point Club in SVC victory

Junior Ben Price became the 21st member of the 100-point club in Saint Vincent's 12-5 win over Thiel College. Price is tied for 20th overall with 102 points.
 
The game opened with no goals in the first 10 minutes until the Tomcats scored a man-up goal at the 4:17 mark. 
 
Jon Succop and the Bearcats answered two minutes later with a helper from Frank Casile. However, Thiel recaptured the lead with a minute left in the first. Tyler Condrasky evened the score at two with a goal just 11 seconds later. Thiel scored the final goal of the period and held the 3-2 lead.
 
In the second, Jeremy Kennedy scored on a pass from Zach Novelli tie square the game at three. Novelli then gave Saint Vincent its first lead of the game with an assist from Price. With 6:14 left in the half, Joe Puvel scored as Novelli picked up his second assist to make the score 5-3. Condrasky scored the final goal of the half off a pass from Casile. The Bearcats held the Tomcats scoreless in the second and led 6-3 at the break.
 
Price scored the opening goal in the third just 1:25 into the period with a helper from Danny Tare. Novelli scored his second of the game a 1:18 later to extend the Saint Vincent lead to five (8-3). Kennedy netted his second of the contest off a pass from Succop.
 
Thiel ended the seven-goal streak by the Bearcats as the Tomcats scored the final goal of the third as they still trailed 9-4.
 
Alec Richard opened the scoring in the fourth with his ninth of the season. Thiel scored another man-up goal to bring the difference back to five (10-5).
 
Ryan Filyo then scored with an assist from Stone Haberstroh with 5:57 remaining in regulation. Price netted the final goal of the contest as Saint Vincent won by the 12-5 score.
 
Novelli finished the game with two goals and assists while Price totaled two goals and an assist. Brandon Martin started in net as he made seven saves for his fourth win of the season. Cole O'Connor started in net for the Tomcats.
 
With the win, Saint Vincent is now 7-7, 5-1 in conference and has clinched a playoff berth. The Bearcats conclude the regular season on Saturday, April 27 at Chatham University. Start time is 12:00 p.m.
