The Saint Vincent men's tennis team was unable to hold a 2-1 lead after doubles play, falling 6-3 to Washington & Jefferson in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match.

Josh Boland and
Alex DeLuca captured the first point of the day for SVC, winning the #3 doubles match by a score of 8-3. Â
Mauricio Sanchez and
Zach Fox then went the distance before winning the #2 doubles match, 8-7.

In singles play, the lone SVC win came at #6, where Boland lost the first set, 7-6 before bouncing back with a 6-2 win in the second to send it to a tiebreaker.  Boland came out victorious, 10-5.  Two other matches were closely contested. Sanchez lost in his #2 match, 7-5, 6-4, and Fox battled his way to a tiebreaker.  After dropping the first set, 7-6, he won the second by a 6-2 margin before falling 10-4 in the tiebreaker.

The Bearcats are now 2-2 in the conference, 6-3 overall, while W&J improves to 3-0 in the conference and 8-2 overall.  The Bearcats will host Mount Aloysius College on Sunday (April 7) at 12PM in a non-conference match.
