Lacrosse team's season ends with 11-10 loss to Westminster

The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team fell one goal short in a late comeback attempt, losing in the semifinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference playoffs to Westminster College by a score of 11-10.

The Bearcats opened the scoring as Tyler Condrasky scored 2:20 into the opening period with an assist from Ben Price. Ryan Filyo followed with an unassisted goal to extend the lead to two. Jeremy Kennedy followed with the third-consecutive goal with a helper from Condrasky. 

Westminster answered with three goals of its own to end the first and tie the game at three. The Titans then scored the opening goal of the second to take their first lead of the game, 4-3.

SVC tied the game with 10:07 remaining in the first half as Ben Price scored a man-up goal. Condrasky scored his second goal of the with the help of Filyo to give the Bearcats the lead again. Kennedy made the margin two (6-4) when he netted a man-up goal off a pass from Zach Novelli. The score remained that way going to halftime.

In the second half, Novelli scored the first goal with help from Frank Casile. The Titans answered with four-straight goals to regain the lead, 8-7, going to the final period of regulation.

Condrasky completed the hat trick with an unassisted goal to tie the game at eight. Kennedy then gave lead back to Saint Vincent with some help from Condrasky. 

Westminster fought back and scored three in a row to capture a 11-9 lead.

Price brought the Bearcats within one as he scored with an assist from Kennedy with 1:18 remaining in regulation. Even though SVC got quality chances in the final minute but fell by the 11-10 score.

Condrasky led the team with three goals and two assists. Although the team lost, there was one bright spot. With the three goals and an assist, Kennedy tied the program record and Will DeLanoy for All-Time Points with 242. Kennedy finished the season with 47 goals and 13 assists.

Saint Vincent finished the season with an 8-8 record and 6-1 in the PAC.
