Bearcats fall to crosstown rival in season opener


The SVC women's soccer team lost its season opening contest to Pitt-Greensburg by a score of 3-0.

Pitt-Greensburg held an offensive advantage from the start, but the Bearcat defense played well, keeping the game scoreless in the first half despite UPG holding a 12-1 advantage in shots during the first 45 minutes.

UPG got on the board 10 minutes into the second half, then added a pair of late goals.  

Abigail Johnson took the loss in the net for the Bearcats, recording 12 saves.  For the game, the Bobcats outshot the Bearcats, 25-2. 

SVC returns to action on Sunday, September 1, hosting Marietta College at 3PM at UPMC Field
