Women's soccer team falls to Marietta

The Bearcat women's soccer team lost a non-conference game to Marietta College by a final score of 4-0.

The Pioneers got on the board less than 90 seconds into the game, when Chloe Williams took control of the ball just over 20 yards out, dribbled past a defender, and scored from 15 yards away.
 
Williams then added another goal 17 minutes later, giving the visitors a 2-0 lead.
 
Marietta added a pair of second half goal to pull away to the 4-0 victory. 
 
For the game, SVC was out-shot 22-2.  Both SVC shots were taken by Maddy Mihalchik.   Abigail Johnson started and took the loss in the net, playing the first 64 minutes and making 9 saves.  Cande Kossel recorded three saves in the final 26 minutes, and did not allow a goal. 
 
SVC is now 0-2 on the season, and will host Mount Aloysius in a non-conference game on Wednesday (September 4) at 4PM.
