The Saint Vincent women's basketball team scored 100-plus points for the third time this season in its 103-87 win over Waynesburg University. The win gives Saint Vincent a 17-6 record with a Presidents' Athletic Conference record of 13-1.Â
Madison Kollar scored a career and game-high 41 points in 26 minutes as she went 18-23 from the field.
Jenna Lafko added 16 points with seven assists and six rebounds.
Carlee Kilgus and
Erin Giancola finished in double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Saint Vincent jumped out to a 25-14 lead half way through the first period and never looked back. By the end of the first, the Bearcats led 36-26 over the Yellow Jackets. Throughout the remainder of the game, Saint Vincent outscored Waynesburg, 67-61.Â
SVC forced 14 turnovers as Lafko, Kilgus and
Bri Van Volkenburg each collected three steals. On the glass, the Bearcats held a 49-32 edge with as seven different players corralled five or more rebounds. Offensively, SVC shot 54-percent (43-79) from the field while scoring 66 of its 103 points inside the paint.
Saint Vincent returns to Latrobe as it welcomes Geneva College on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Start time is 5:30 p.m.
