The Bearcat men's tennis team claimed a thrilling 5-4 non-conference victory over Juniata on the road.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead, claiming the first doubles point by a score of 8-3. Saint Vincent answered back with identical 8-4 wins at second and third doubles.Â
In singles play Juniata claimed the first three points to take the lead 4-2, setting the stage for the Bearcat comeback.
Josh Boland started the charge for Saint Vincent with a 6-2, 6-2 win at fourth singles to draw the match within one, 4-3.
Aaron Kuhn tied the match up with a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing at sixth singles. During the match Kuhn hit a school record 16 aces. The final match of the day saw freshman
Evan Ray win a thrilling 6-2, 7-5 match at fifth singles.Â
Saint Vincent opens the season with a win for the seventh time in the past ten years and will be back in action on Thursday, March 5. The Bearcats will face off with King's College at the USTA national campus as part of their spring break trip.
