The Saint Vincent College baseball team suffered its second loss of the season. The Bearcats fell to Illinois College in seven innings, 16-3.

SVC opened the game by scoring in the second inning as
Tom Bash singled to bring home
Ben Menarchek.
TJ Dailey made his way to third on the play and then scored on a passed ball. With a 2-0 lead, the Bearcats added another run in the third as Menarchek drove a ball into left field to score
Jordan Sabol.

In the bottom half of the third, the Blueboys exploded for six runs on four hits while the Bearcats made an error. From here, Illinois College added runs in the next following innings. In the fourth, IC added two off a double to right center.

The fifth inning saw the Blueboys score three runs off wild pitches and added three more runs thanks to a double down the right field line. IC capped off the game by scoring two more runs in the sixth and held on for the 16-3 win.

Over the final four innings, SVC had chances to add more runs with runners in scoring position but failed to capitalize. Menarchek and Dailey finished the day with two hits each and scored a run while Menarchek also drove in a run.
Zach Barberich started on the mound in the loss, going four innings and allowing eight runs (four earned) on eight hits with five strikeouts.

Saint Vincent (2-2) will take on St. John Fisher on Thursday afternoon in Auburndale, Florida. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
