The Saint Vincent College softball team traveled to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania as they faced Westminster in a doubleheader matchup. The Bearcats fell in both games, the first game 11-3 and the second game, 11-2.
Game 1 – Westminster 11, Saint Vincent 3 (6 Inn.)
Westminster added four runs early in the first inning, leading 4-0. SVC garnered their first hit of the game at the top of the second, trailing the Titans 4-1 at the end of two.
With the Bearcats fighting back from a 4-1 deficit, Westminster strung together a double, a groundout and a run that led to a 5-1 advantage.
Saint Vincent and Westminster recorded a scoreless third inning.
The fourth began with
Kaylee Ludwick recording a single to right field. The Bearcats had a few runners reach first base on errors by Westminster, hoping to regain momentum to diminish the lead. SVC then flied out and popped up to end the fourth.

Westminster added one run in the fourth inning to gain the lead (6-1) over Saint Vincent.
Saint Vincent added two runs in the fifth inning. In that time, the Bearcats were only able to put together three hits and fell by the final of 11-3 as the Titans added five runs in the sixth inning.
Mallory Halleck went 2-4 from the plate with one RBI.
Celia Knappenberger started in the circle and pitched five innings giving up 14 hits, 11 runs and two walks in the loss.
Game 2 – Westminster 11, Saint Vincent 2 (5 Inn.)
The Bearcats started the second game out strong as Shea Robson singled through the left side. In the next at-bat,
Jessica Persin was out at first in a sacrifice bunt to advance Robson to second.
Abbey Ginter double to left field, bringing Robson in to score. SVC lead 2-0 heading into the second inning.
Both teams went scoreless until the bottom of the second inning where Westminster tallied four hits and added five runs. The Titans lead the Bearcats 5-2.

Saint Vincent and Westminster again, remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth. The Titans snatched six runs on six hits.
In five innings, Westminster grabbed the 11-2 victory over the Bearcats.

Ginter went 1-3 at the plate with one RBI.
Riley Assalone started in the circle and gave up three hits, four runs and three walks in the loss.
Saint Vincent (1-3) returns to campus as it will host Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday, March 16. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
